Altenew March Release Blog Hop II + Giveaway

Hello all! Hope you are having a wonderful week so far!

Today I'm so excited to participate in Altenew March Release Blog Hop with so many amazingly talented crafters!!! It's always a great pleasure and honor to be a guest at Altenew!

If you arrived here from Eunyoung's blog you are right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning of the hop, please head on over to Altenew. The complete blog hop list is at the end of this post.

Altenew released 15 stamp sets and 13 die sets, which are now available in the Altenew store.
The stamp and die sets, which I had the pleasure to play with for today's cards, are Garden Treasure, Hug Me and Extra Special.

I've created two cards with those new stamp sets.

My first card is featuring Garden Treasure and Hug Me stamp sets. How cute is the fox standing with the big and bold sentiment! The cute fox was the love at first sight :). And I wanted to put him in a flower field. To start off I stamped the fox with Hug Me sentiment in black and the small flowers from Garden Treasure in yellow and pink for no-line coloring along with lots of masking. I then colored the flowers and the fox with Copic markers. I blended green Distress inks on the bottom part after masking all the flowers, added white accents on the sentiment and the stamen of the flowers, and then clear heat embossed the fox with sentiment with the help of Misti tool.

I then stamped the long sentiment in black and clear heat embossed on some yellow cardstock, cut in a curved arrow and gave it to the fox to hold. I added tiny pieces of clear foam under the yellow sentiment strip to give it some dimension. I trimmed the panel slightly smaller than A2 size and foam mounted it on a gray card base. To finish off I added clear Wink of Stella on the flowers and the long sentiment and scattered some pretty sequins.

On my second card I used the inlaid die cut technique to make the front panel. First I've cut a partial panel with a curve like the shape of the flower stamp from Extra Special stamp set with my Cricut. I stamped the flower branch again on another white card stock, flowers in yellow and leaves and stem in green, and colored it using Copic markers. I used only the outline image, but this stamp set is also for a layered stamping. I die cut the colored image using coordinating die. I die cut the edge of the front panel using the coordinating die as well to inlay my colored flower in it.

I then made a soft watercolor background. For that I stamped and white heat embossed the flower of the Extra Special stamp set on some watercolor paper and colored the panel in yellow and green. I added gold splatters on it and foam mounted the front panel. The sentiment was gold heat embossed on white card stock on which I dabbed some yellow ink using finger dauber. The sentiment was glued on a strip of gold glitter paper on the bottom of the card. To finish off I added a few sequins to give the card a dreamy look.

Hope you enjoyed my cards! I absolutely have enjoyed making them :) !

Seize The Birthday - Color Splash

Hello and happy Thursday!

It's 'Seize the Birthday-Thursday' again :) This time we have a color theme as our Toppings option.

As always you may link up any newly created birthday card in our gallery!

I chose red as the color for my DT card.

For my background I stamped the flowers from Amazing You stamp set by Altenew in ombre gray using Pewter Collection Couture color inks of The Ton. I made my background directly on my white card base. Set it aside, I made the tag with the Diagonal Stripes (SSS), stamped in Noir. I added a vellum panel on the card base to soften the background and to heat emboss my sentiment from Scripty Greetings (The Ton) in silver. I foam mounted the tag on the vellum. The red roses are colored with Copic markers. I fussy cut the flowers and glued it on the tag, some parts with foam adhesive. To finish off I added a tiny red bow.

I like the look of my card inspired by our Toppings option :)!
Hope you have some ideas popping in your mind now. For more inspiration please stop by the Seize the Birthday blog. There are some amazing projects from my fellow DT members and our Surprise Party Guest Anita Bowden!

Have a fun crafty day!

Build-A-Flower: Camellia by Altenew

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful week so far!

Today I have two special cards to share with you! Altenew releases today the first stamp set of a series that will be continued in the future.
It is called Build-A-Flower and the first flower of the series is Camellia! This is a layering stamp to create a gorgeous big camellia and the coordinating dies are included in the set.

I'm so thrilled to be a part of this special release event at Altenew! It is an honor for me to introduce you this beautiful stamp set.

Let's take a look at my cards!

I wanted to make a off-the-edge image card. So I cut Canson water color paper larger than A2 size and stamped the camellia in Tattered Rose DI and the leaves in second generation of Hickory Smoke DI after masking the flower on the top left corner of my panel. I used for both the third layer stamp of the Build-A-Flower: Camellia set. I then colored the image using Zig brush markers and Koi water color. I tried to stay in coral and gray color combination but added a little bit of pink to flower and a bit of green to the leaves. After adding gray shades around the image and clear Wink of Stella on the flower, I cut the panel in 5.5" x 4" and along the outline of the image. I cut out a thin strip on the left part to show the blending in the same color combination on the card base. I splattered silver ink and stamped the sentiment in black pigment ink which I clear heat embossed. To finish off I added some clear and iridescent sequins.

For my second card I used a new-to-me technique. Alcohol ink coloring on vellum.

To make this vellum flower I colored a piece of vellum with pink alcohol inks (Raspberry, Flamingo and Shell Pink) and blending solution. I blew the colors to spread it after dripping the ink on the vellum. After the vellum was all dry, I stamped the third layer stamp from Build-A-Flower: Camellia set in embossing ink, heat embossed it in gold and cut it using the coordinating die. The leaves were created in the same way. I used Limeade and Botanical for the leaves. Set them aside, I created my background panel using alcohol inks and Yupo paper. I sprayed the Yupo paper with rubbing alcohol first then dripped the colors and spread them by blowing. I used Flamingo, Shell Pink, Limeade, Snow Cap and Gold mixative. As the background was too busy, I cut two partial panels in white with my Cricut.  I stamped the sentiment in Deep Iris on one of the panel. I stamped one more camellia in purple shade using all the layers and die cut it. I glued the background panel flat on the card base, foam mounted the two partial panels and arranged the flowers and leaves as shown in the picture. Some sequins were the finishing touch.

The vellum warped quite a bit after coloring with so many inks. But I really love the distressed look.

I had a blast playing with Build-A-Flower: Camellia stamp set. I hope you enjoyed my cards as well.

The Flower Challenge - Anything Goes

Today is the 4th of March, time for a brand new challenge over at The Flower Challenge.
The theme of this month is Anything Goes!

For this beloved theme I created a card with an image I colored a while back.

The stamp I used is called Timeless Rose from Stampendous. I stamped it on a white card stock using light pink and light green inks for no-line coloring. I colored it with Copic markers first, then added details using Polychromos colored pencils. I cut out crossing strips from the colored panel. I glued some silver foiled patterned paper on my card base and mounted the colored panel onto it. The sentiment is from Penny Black which I stamped in gray. I finished off my card by adding some sequins.
On the Close-up pic you can see the shimmer of the Wink of Stella.

That's it from me for today! For more inspiration don't forget to visit The Flower Challenge blog!
Looking forward to seeing your floral creations in The Flower Challenge gallery!

Yellow Lilies

Hello there!
It's me again :). I'm popping in to share a CAS floral card with you I made with the sketch of Less is More #317. I flipped the sketch.

The lily flower is from Hero Arts. I stamped it twice in black along with masking, cut a circle out and colored the part in the circle using Copic markers. After I foam mounted the highlighted part, I drew three yellow lines using some gel pen. The sentiment is from Oriental Orchid stamp set from Altenew a narrow sentiment, just what I wanted for this card :). I white heat embossed it on a strip of black cardstock and adhered it. To finish off I added three dots using Pico Embellisher and a coat of clear Wink of Stella on the lilies.

I want to link up this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #231: Anything Goes as well.

And I want to join in the TIME OUT's 3rd Birthday Party
Theme: Love and/or Friendship with the optional twist of 'spotlight stamping'
Happy Birthday and thanks to Nonni for the notice :)!

Thank you for stopping by!
Enjoy your day!

Seize the Birthday - No Topping

Hello all!

Today starts a new challenge at Seize the Birthday with a new Surprise Party Guest, Anita Bowden from Neat & Crafty. I love her pretty and cheerful CAS card designs!

We have No Toppings option this time, so you can enter any newly created Birthday card!

I've made a shaker card with the Floral Border stamp from The Ton and a coordinating die, which cut the inside of the stamped border.

To start off I stamped the Floral Border stamp on Bristol smooth cardstock. I used Aqua markers to color the stamp in different colors. I spritzed a little bit of clear water on the stamp and stamped it on the paper. After the panel was dry, I stamped the image again in embossing ink with the help of Misti and heat embossed it with clear EP. I then added a bit of colors on the peonies using Zig brush pens.
The shaker window was made with the coordinating die. I cut some fun foam twice and glued it together and a clear acetate underneath the colored panel. I used silver, pink and purple beads as shaker elements and added the green background to finish off the shaker card. The sentiment die cut is from The Ton as well. I added the happy in a banner to complete the sentiment.

That's it from my side. Hope you enjoyed my card! Please visit the Seize the Birthday blog for more inspiration from my fellow DT members and our Surprise Party Guest Anita!

Happy crafting!
